Astrology for the Week of Feb 13 - 19

This week has some very different energies at play which can be confusing until you realize that it’s probably two entirely different areas of life. It’s very much like how one part of your life can be running smoothly while another is completely fubar.

Monday is a great preview for the rest of the week. It starts off nicely with a hint of the romantic dreamy vibes to come later in the week. Then as we move through the day you might get a preview of the more Saturnian parts of the week.

Pay attention to what feels easy and like a bit of an escape and what feels challenging (or where you are inspired to work diligently towards a goal) and respond accordingly.

Tuesday is Valentine’s Day. This is one of the very few days of Cupid that I can remember that may actually feel a little bit like a hallmark movie for a lot of people. Not specifically because of the astrology of today but because of an aspect that won’t be exact until tomorrow. 

One thing is for sure, love is in the air.

I should offer a little disclaimer here, I adore all of the sappy unrealistic rom-com movies, love songs, old people holding hands, and toddlers running to greet each other like they’ve been apart for decades. I love people in love and I love Valentine’s Day. 

Do I know that it is a made-up holiday and that it is commercialized into the ground? Obviously, but all holidays are made up and humans use literally everything to create opportunities for building wealth. It doesn’t bother me.

What bothers me way more are the people who use that as an excuse not to delight in the possibilities, magic, and celebration of the people they adore. 

The whole “I’m not going to celebrate how much I love you because ‘the man’ told me I had to or because you expect me to” is about the most toddler tantrumy thing in the history of ever. I mean that’s like saying “oh you prefer when I kiss you here and touch you like that - cool, never doing that ever again.”

I don’t get it.

NOW that does not mean that I think if your significant other doesn’t celebrate it means that you should throw a tantrum or in some way punish them. If that’s not their thing, that’s totally fine. ( I personally don’t get it but I legit don’t understand a lot of things about people so I just started accepting them as they are).

The point is, you can do it for yourself because theoretically, you’re one of the people you love and adore. Right? Right.

If you know your significant other doesn’t give a flying fish stick about flowers and chocolate or whatever, buy it for yourself. Or if they totally care but have the attention span or executive functioning skills of a coked-up squirrel, for sure buy it for yourself.

Ok ok I know that’s all good and well for me but what about those people who don’t have a significant other and who will be alone and sad and heartbroken? 

I’ve been single for a presidential administration or two. I get it. I’ll also be getting spoiled af on Valentine’s Day and all of the other days because love is my love language and why not?

On Wednesday Venus and Neptune meet up which is dreamy and romantic and all of the delightful things. Romantic idealism is fantastic and heavily supported during this period but so is fantasy and delusion. Make sure that when you put on your rose-colored glasses you have both feet firmly planted on the ground. 

Or don’t. People are way too practical most of the time. Why not believe true love is possible and happily ever after is more than a myth? Sure it might take effort and determination and work but that’s supported this week too. 

This could relate to women in your life or romance and love. It could also be related specifically to Pisces house topics.

Thursday is all about firm boundaries, committing to hard (or diligent) work, and problem-solving. This is great if you need to establish boundaries and solve problems related to Aquarius house topics but it could also show up as someone else setting a boundary with you or being told no about your solution to a problem.

This is most likely related to your Aquarius house topics but could also show up with authority figures or very specifically targeted at you.

Saturday the Sun moves into Pisces shifting your primary focus to Pisces house topics. Venus has been here for a few weeks helping you figure out what you desire and now the Sun will help you begin to think more logistically. 

Pay attention because Saturn will be marching into this zone next month and helping you to establish new routines, boundaries, schedules, and structure.

Sunday, you’ll have a bit of a recap on the boundaries/structure conversation that came up midweek as the Moon joins Saturn. Late tonight the Moon moves into Pisces and before dawn, we have an absolutely delightful New Moon.

Spend today and tonight releasing and saying goodbye to the thoughts, beliefs, people, and situations that are holding you back from a dreamy and delightful new beginning. 

While I was writing this week’s forecast, the thing I kept coming back to in my head was that sometimes love is easy, dreamy, romantic, and a bit like a fairytale. Like when you recognize something in someone you’ve only just laid eyes on and don’t find out until months or even years later that what you recognized was the person you’d eventually fall in love with. The person you want to start each day with and explore all that life has to offer.

Sometimes love is barely having time to talk to your person or being so overwhelmed that you don’t even want to talk to them but knowing they exist is enough. 

And sometimes love is working through your stuff, their stuff, or the stuff you have to face together even when it’s unpleasant and awkward but you do it together because that’s what love does. 

No matter where all the planetary action is happening this is a really good week to think about the commitment and hard work (Sun conjunct Saturn in Aquarius) you’re willing to do for love (Venus conjunct Neptune in Pisces). 

Yes, there’s nuance in how it’ll play out based on your chart, but dang. I think most of us could use taking a look and leaning into the magic and the commitment of love a little more often and this week it’s a whole vibe.
