Astrology for the Week of October 17-23

The beginning of this week is intense. Not in a bad eclipsey kind of way but in a primal desire kind of a way. That doesn’t necessarily mean adult-themed activities are required but if they’re on the menu, they should be absolutely delicious.

Don’t worry, if that’s not your thing, you can channel all of that desire and intensity into a creative project, self-improvement, gardening, or whatever lights your fire.

In all seriousness, really spend time thinking about what it is you do want. Venus and the Sun will be actively trying to help you figure it out but you do have to be paying attention.

In other news, I hope you took to heart the advice I gave about planning some nurturing goodness for yourself over this past weekend in preparation for the eclipses because towards the end of this week the eclipse energy is going to start amping up in a BIG way. If you haven’t done it yet, book that retreat, schedule the time off, buy some art or baking supplies, order that weighted blanket, or pencil in some other form of self-care for between the last week of October and first full week of November.

Monday we have another lovely Cancer moon and a lot of energy to do all of the things. Whether you’re baking, writing, problem-solving or networking you should be able to get it done. 

The only tiny little warning I have is if you’re feeling the urge to compete in an overly aggressive way or do something that will create a lot of chaos for yourself - resist and thank me later.

Tuesday continues the high energy highly passionate start of the week. What (or who) do you really want? Not what’s practical or what do you think you can have but what is that thing that is pulling you towards it right now? 

Yes, it’s probably scary and will likely require some work and revision but dang. You only get the one life. Do you want to live it on the easy setting and get the boring gear or play on the epic level that has everything you’ve ever wanted? 

It’s possible I spent my formative years playing too much Diablo but that doesn’t make me less right ;)

Friday is the most normal and grounded day of the week but only because it’s the only day without anything big and showy happening. You’ve still got all of that energy bubbling up and as it is the day of Venus - my advice is to make it magical.

Tonight is a great night for loving up on your beloved, creating art, enjoying music, and cooking up some practical magic. It’s entirely up to you if that’s actual magical work or working your magic on a creative endeavor.

All week the Sun and Venus have been inching closer together and driving the energy through the roof as they made consecutive aspects to Mars and Pluto. On Saturday they finally join together and it is a fantastic day for a photo shoot, creative inspiration, date, romantic getaway, and literally any other ultra Venusian thing you want to do. 

This is the last day of Libra season and it is a stunning finale. Soak up all of the balance, beauty, harmony, decadence, and deliciousness you can, my darling. 

On Sunday we ride into the fray.

Sunday eclipse season officially begins as both the Sun and Venus move into Scorpio. We also have Saturn turning direct and upping the intensity. Altogether, it represents a huge energetic shift and likely a shift in focus.

In general, I want to say that Venus in Scorpio is next-level dominatrix vibes. Does that apply to all natal placements? No. But when I tell you the women in your life or anyone with strong Venus activations are going to be in a take no prisoners kind of mood for the next few weeks, I hope you’re paying attention. 

The Sun in Scorpio is absolutely delightful. If you delight in the deepest darkest shadowy places, passion, transformation, uncovering secrets, eroticism, and all of the other words that go along with the Scorpio vibe - including obsessive, stubborn, destructive, sarcastic, and possessive. I’m a fan, but I’m also a whole lot of Scorpio. 

In your natal chart, the Sun illuminates your conscious purpose and much of your core identity. As it moves through the various houses, your core self remains the same. You simply become more focused on the topics of the house it’s visiting.

The house Venus is moving into is the area of life where you’ll be more willing to define and attract the things you value and desire (and reject the things that no longer live up to your standards), creating beauty as you define it, and facilitating greater harmony for yourself, between yourself and others, or between your inner and outer worlds. Just keep in mind this time the bringer of balance is in stilettos and has a whip. 

The house where you find Scorpio is where you have a deeper desire to experience transformation and power. In this area of your life, you have the potential to experience or show up as mysterious, healing, piercing, and sensual OR power-hungry, obsessive, paranoid, and destructive.
