Astrology for the Week of September 19-25

This week we reach the halfway point in the Mercury retrograde cycle, we have the Libra Equinox, Mercury changes signs, *and* we have a lovely new moon in Libra. 

Monday 9/19:

Monday is nice way to start the week. The Moon is at home in Cancer which tends to feel cozy and she’s playing well with all of the other planets which should mean pleasant productivity.

Tuesday is equally productive with a slightly more extroverty vibe after work. It’s a great night for a social engagement, writing, or doing some Mercury retrograde revisions.

Thursday 9/22:

Thursday is more forward momentum on things you’ve already begun. It’s not a great day to start new things because the Moon is void for the *entire day*. You could also use it as a self care kind of day, my personal favorite for long void moons.

Thursday night the Sun moves into Libra at 9:03 pm eastern. Between that time and 2:49 am when the Sun joins up with Mercuryyou could find yourself with exceptional clarity around your Mercury retrograde issues. Pay attention to whatever comes up for you during this very narrow window as the insights could be valuable for the rest of your retrograde journey. 

In your natal chart, the Sun illuminates your conscious purpose and much of your core identity. As it moves through the various houses, your core self remains the same. It is simply focused on the topics of the house it’s visiting.

The house where you find Libra is where you have a stronger desire to cooperate with others and create beauty and balance. In this area of your life, you have the potential to show up as agreeable, social, charming, diplomatic, and refined OR dependent, indecisive, passive, superficial, and vain.

The house the Sun is moving into is the area of life where you will be more consciously focused. More on that when we talk about Sunday’s New Moon.

Friday 9/23:

Friday Mercury retrogrades back into Virgo at 8:04 am. Normally, Mercury in Virgo is clear, analytical, and practical. However, this time around it will be opposite Neptune and your thoughts are likely to be less clear until Mercury gets out of Virgo on October 10 (although I expect improvement on October 2nd when he goes direct). 

This foggy dreamland vibe is amplified today and tomorrow as Venus also opposes Neptune. Try to go forward with an open heart, but don’t make any commitments til Mercury moves back into Libra in a couple of weeks.

Saturday 9/24:

Saturday is emotionally unstable and intense. Is that always bad? No, you could use it for something subjectively positive with a lot of thought work and mind management but the inclination is probably going to be more emo and erratic. Think before you speak so you can respond rather than react for optimal results. 

This is the night before the new moon, which makes it ideal for any type of releasing work you want to do so that you’re able to fully embrace the new beginning in the Libra area of your chart.

The Libra New Moon Sunday night is delicious for so many reasons and I’m looking forward to it. It’s not an action taking kind of New Moon, the new beginning is a bit more internal and quiet. I’m expecting pretty significant shifts related to this New Moon the second week of October. 

By rising sign the specific area of life where you are being offered a new beginning:

• Aries Rising: Committed relationships, contracts, business partners, and other contractual relationships, and open enemies
• Taurus Rising: Physical health, illness, coworkers, your job, pets, self-improvement, and the things you feel obligated to
• Gemini Rising: Children, pleasure, romance, dating, sexuality, the things you desire,  the creative arts, love affairs, the ways in which you are entertained, close friends, and lovers
• Cancer Rising: Home, family, home life, land, ancestors, private self, your emotional foundation, gains from hidden sources, your father, and your father’s family
• Leo Rising: Communication, siblings, divination, short distance travel, your neighborhood, writing, your immediate environment, the divine feminine, siblings, and cousins
