Astrology for the Week of August 22-28

This is an intense week with some significant energetic shifts. 

All of the energy I’m going to be describing for the weekend will be building throughout the end of the week, especially if the specific aspects are triggering your natal chart in some way. 

Monday 8/22:

Monday begins with expansive optimism and intense mental focus. This is fantastic if you have some big projects to work on and not so great if you’re obsessing over something you don’t have.

Monday night the Sun moves into Virgo.

In your natal chart, the Sun illuminates your conscious purpose and much of your core identity. As it moves through the various houses, your core self remains the same. It is simply focused on the topics of the house it’s visiting.

The house where you find Virgo is where you have a stronger desire to analyze and function efficiently. In this area of your life, you have the potential to show up as practical, analytical, organized, disciplined, and helpful OR judgemental, obsessive, self-denying, picky, perfectionistic, and a bit of a workaholic.

Wednesday has a lot of energy to get things done. However, it’s important to note that Uranus is stationing retrograde. 

When the outer planets are retrograde it isn’t all that noticeable except for the few days on either side of the station - so basically the entire work week. 

The Taurus area of your life that I’ve talked about during the eclipses and on August 1st when Mars and the North Node met up with Uranus are likely to be triggered again. Fortunately, it should be a milder shock than previous periods.

Thursday night the Moon meets Venus in Leo which is a joyous and extra kind of vibe. It’s a pretty great night for some unexpected extroverty fun. 

Mercury will be moving into Libra at 9:02 pm eastern. Mercury rules all sorts of fun things such as communication, children, logic, language, travel, technology, and commerce. 

The house where you find Libra is where you have a stronger desire to cooperate with others and create beauty and balance. In this area of your life, you have the potential to show up as agreeable, social, charming, diplomatic, and refined OR dependent, indecisive, passive, superficial, and vain.

The house Mercury is moving into is the area of life where you will be more willing to consider diplomatic solutions, organize with an eye towards balance, and bring in more practical beauty - just make sure you don’t get stuck in indecision or give your power away during those negotiations.

Saturday is intense, I’m not going to lie. But if you haven’t figured it out by now - I’m a fan of intense and I really love Mars energy. The New Moon in Virgo is square Mars and my optimistic nature prefers to think of it as providing passion and initiative to the new beginning in Virgo - or your weekend in general 🙃

However, it could make some people combative and frustrated, especially if they are having difficulty embracing their reality. If I’m being honest, that’s probably going to be the experience of a lot of people who work hard to repress their Mars. If that’s you, try not to alienate those around you. If it’s the people around you, try to stay neutral and not take them out in a fit of rage. 

If you’re feeling extra intense, try to channel it into some physical activity. Hiking, boxing, dancing, shopping, walking, screaming at your favorite sports team, or other more adult-themed physical outlets.

Sunday that Venusian energy turns more serious. It’s time to face rather than escape reality. If the instability you’ve experienced with a romantic partner, woman in your life, your finances, or creative projects is detrimental to your happiness and long-term goals, it’s time to face that and create the structure and boundaries necessary to bring greater stability into your life. 

That could look like a breakup or a commitment to a significant other, carving out dedicated time in your week for budgeting or working on a specific creative project that always gets pushed to the back of the list. It doesn’t have to be something negative but it should be practical and based on more than wishes and fairy dust.
