Jul 20, 2022When Does the Astrology Get Easier?
One of the things I get asked most often is some version of, “When does the astrology get easier?”
What I Usually Say
I usually say something very targeted about a current transit that the person is most likely struggling with and when the experiences associated with that transit should begin to dissipate.
Depending on what that transit is, the answer could be a couple of days (if it’s the Moon with Saturn or Pluto, for example), a week (those pesky squares with Mars and Saturn), or a few weeks for something like Mercury retrograde.
I say this because the real answer is far more complicated.
The Truth
The truth is astrology is breathtakingly complex.
Without looking at your natal chart and analyzing a lot of different things all at once, it’s impossible to know what is triggering your chart. I’d need to take into account your profected house, your time lord’s location in your natal chart and by transit, eclipses, other planetary transits, and how those transits are hitting your natal chart.
And that’s the very minimum. It’s a bird’s eye view of your life. Don’t get me wrong, it’s impressive and it’ll blow your mind but there’s only so much an astrologer can look at, conceptualize, and translate for you in an hour.
It is not looking at Zodiacal Releasing periods, solar return charts, progressions, or any number of other techniques. It’s not even evaluating your natal chart placements. It’s literally looking at the current time period. The immediate circumstances without the context of your past.
It doesn’t give me the opportunity to get to know you over time to learn how house topics usually show up for you or which planets are tied to which people in your life.
Is it accurate? Yes. I’ll probably be able to tell you how much longer you’ll be stabby, accident-prone, or extra depressed (because I’ve honestly never had anyone ask me how much longer the blissful lovefest, creative and inspirational overload, or period of financial abundance was going to last - although they should).
The Bigger Truth
But the bigger truth is, it’s never going to be better than it is because your thoughts determine how you experience your life and what you subjectively consider to be the ups and downs.
But life is always 50-50. There’s always going to be something happening that feels subjectively hard.
Think about it like this:
Astrology is to fate what meteorology is to weather. You don’t watch the weather station to find out when the weather will be perfect again forever. You tune in to know what to expect so you can plan accordingly.
That’s why astrology was developed (to predict the literal weather and also the circumstantial weather of our day-to-day lives).
It’s a tool to help us know the types of circumstances we can expect so that we can manage our thoughts to create the feelings and actions we want. It is not so that we can avoid subjectively negative experiences. Those are going to happen regardless.
When will everything get back to normal?
Sometimes when I give the bigger truth answer, people say, “Ok but when will everything return to normal?”
The answer to that is never because normalcy is subjective. It doesn’t exist in a concrete tangible way that everyone would agree on. It’s not a fact, it’s a thought.
Let’s look at a few examples.
Some people want to go back to when it was normal for women to have no control over their lives or bodies. Some people want to go back to when it was normal to own slaves. Some people want to go back to when it was normal to live as a pagan, or when normal was zero technology.
The only thing that is normal is what you’ve normalized in your own life. You get to decide what you want to think about what’s going on around you, what actions you want to take to facilitate the normalization of those circumstances, or what actions you want to take in an effort to change those circumstances.
Nazi Germany was great for some people and a nightmare for others. I for sure have thoughts about it but regardless of your thoughts or the lived experiences of those who lived through the circumstance, it became normal for them.
What I can tell you for sure is that massive change is coming and that some people will profit and enjoy it and others will find it abhorrent. Either way, it’ll soon become the baseline for normal - for as long as it lasts.
Fine. How do I manage my mind when I’m scared?
Once it sinks in that change is going to happen and it’ll probably be subjectively challenging OR when someone hears about something that sounds scary like some of the upcoming transits such as the Pluto return of the United States, Mars/Uranus conjunction in Taurus along with the Scorpio/Taurus eclipses, or the Uranus return of the United States which will begin in 2025 - the question I get is:
What do I DO? Or if they know me really well, they ask, “How do I manage my mind?”
I’m never going to tell you to do XYZ things because only you know what’s best for you.
But I can talk about how to manage your mind when you’re scared or the future feels uncertain.
My first piece of advice is to hire a life coach. Yes, really. Very few people (including life coaches) examine their own thoughts independently and even when they do, it can be really hard to achieve a neutral perspective. Life coaching is really useful and everyone should be working with one. If you don’t want to make that kind of financial investment, that’s just because you don’t really understand how different your life can be and that’s ok! Until you are ready, I have a whole bunch of free resources for you.

How I Manage My Mind
So, how do I manage my mind?
Change is always coming. Uncertainty will always exist. I deal with it by knowing that I'm resilient and adaptable and that I'll figure it out when the new circumstances present themselves. I take appropriate measures based on current information and I live my life doing mostly what I want and trying not to worry about what I can't control.
Does it always work? Nope. But I just keep trying. I find journaling, meditation, yoga, and restricting the incessant doom scrolling to be helpful ;)
I don't follow the social media accounts of mainstream media that just want to keep people scared - or the people who repost it. I don't see the point. We don't need nonstop information and it's actually bad for us. A great resource for this is Stolen Focus. I follow accounts, read books, listen to podcasts, and interact with content that teaches me something useful or makes me feel happy (I’m a big fan of art and animal accounts).
If you’re worried about the geopolitical situation and want to understand it better on a mundane level, I highly recommend The End of the World is Just the Beginning. But I will say that it’s probably not going to cheer you up - just make you think about the world differently.
The way you get through subjectively difficult transits/circumstances/fate is by constantly working on your mind, not preparing for circumstances that are beyond your control. It will never get better, it’ll just be different. But that also means it’ll never be worse.
I know that isn't as sexy as saying “buy these five things and everything will be ok” or “as soon as Pluto is out of Capricorn the world will begin an era of peace” but it is the truth.
If you’re feeling frisky, hit me up on Instagram and let me know how the astrology of the week played out for you.
Until next time, my wish for you is the peace that comes from constantly examining your thoughts and choosing to keep only those that are helpful.
