Astrology for the Week of July 18-24

The first part of the week is intense and there are some dramatic energetic shifts occurring. Venus just moved into Cancer Sunday to join Mercury and the Sun. Maximize all of that planetary energy in that area of life while you can because Mercury and the Sun will be moving to Leo before the end of the week. After all of that intensity and change, you can look forward to a much more light-hearted and extroverty weekend.

Monday might be emotionally intense - but in a productive way. To make the best of the energy, as you work think about the big picture and your why. 

If we want something badly enough, working for it can feel painful or challenging in a good way. It’s only when you forget your why and focus on the drudgery that it becomes a chore.

Tuesday, there is a building intensity caused by the Sun/Pluto opposition that will culminate and begin dissipating late tonight. This can show up as manipulation and power plays but it can also show you where you’ve been resisting change and transformation. Be gentle, but honest and direct, with yourself and others about what you want, boundaries, and the changes you need to make.  

Mercury moves into Leo first thing in the morning. 

The house where you find Leo is the area of life where you have a need to creatively express yourself but also where you have a strong desire to be appreciated by others. In this area of your life, you have the potential to show up as confident, dynamic, majestic, creative, loving, generous, and playful or self-centered, overbearing, domineering, patronizing, childish, and insecure.

With Mercury in Leo, communication could become more flamboyant, loving, and confident but it could just as easily become more dictatorial, melodramatic, and arrogant. People’s thoughts are more likely to remain fixed and they may be less open to diplomatic solutions (King’s decree, they don’t debate).

The house Mercury is moving into is the area of life where you will be more willing to stand up for yourself (or others), learn new things, create new content, and creatively express yourself from a confident (and hopefully not cocky) place.

The Sun moves into Leo at 4:06 pm eastern. Leo is the only sign ruled by the Sun and it’s the place where the Sun *loves* to be. Because of this, the Sun can offer a real boost to the area of life in your chart it’s visiting.
