Astrology for the Week of July 4-10

This week there are a LOT of big energetic shifts that will slow down the pace and refocus your attention.

Monday 7/4:

Monday has a general feeling of productivity but there is an undercurrent of change and unpredictability in the air.

Mars is at the last degree of Aries and Mercury is at the last degree of Gemini. These are very active, masculine signs and tomorrow both planets will be moving into more receptive, feminine signs. I’ll talk about that more tomorrow.

The last degree of any sign is called the anaretic degree. The bounds of this degree are always ruled by a malefic which may contribute to the subjectively negative connotation that it frequently has.

But, what it really is, is the ending of one way of being to make way for a new way of being. The thing is, that transition *can* be subjectively jarring. 

Harness the last of the fire and air energy for any creative work you have lingering and try not to burn anything to the ground tonight - both literally and figuratively.

Tuesday morning you will wake up to a new energetic signature. 

Mars is now in Taurus and Mercury is in Cancer. You may feel a little disoriented and emotional at first but once the Moon moves into Libra everyone should start acclimating.

With Mercury in Cancer, communication could become more sensitive allowing people to be more receptive to listening to alternative viewpoints.  It’s also possible people could just be more emotionally overwhelmed by all of the talking, emo, and more closed off. That’s the thing about each sign, there is a subjectively more productive and less productive mode of expression. 

Everyone will need to actively engage their free will to access the energy in a constructive way. Let’s say you just broke up with someone. You could write about it in a journal to get all of your feelings out, write a letter to express your gratitude for the experience, or send a drunk text begging for a last hookup or raging about the injustice of the separation. Those are all expressions of emotional communication related to a specific scenario but some are subjectively better than others, right? 

The house Mercury is moving into is an area of life where you are more willing to speak up, learn new things, create new content, or express your thoughts from a more emotionally vulnerable place.

By rising sign:

• Aries Rising: Home, family, home life, land, ancestors, private self, and your emotional foundation
• Taurus Rising: Communication, siblings, divination, short distance travel, your neighborhood, writing, and the divine feminine
• Gemini Rising: Money, possessions, resources, how you make a living, and self-worth
• Cancer Rising: Your identity, appearance, personality, the way you view yourself, and your character
• Leo Rising: Mental health, the subconscious, ways you self sabotage, the ways you isolate yourself, and spiritual liberation
• Virgo Rising: Friends, alliances, your hopes and dreams, social media, personal and professional networks, unions, and that which supports you
• Libra Rising: Your reputation, profession, actions, relationship with and to authority, and your ambitions
• Scorpio Rising: Higher education, divination, foreign travel, religion, astrology, and the divine masculine
• Sagittarius Rising: Investment, other people’s money, debt, topics concerning death, psychology, taxes, fears, and the occult

• Pisces Rising: Children, pleasure, romance, dating, sexuality, the things you desire,  and the creative arts

With Mars in Taurus, people should be a lot less “burn everything to the ground” and more interested in planning a long-term campaign. Spoiler alert, all of the stuff you’ve been thinking about or that was stirred up with eclipses are ready for you to take some action and do some things. This might be especially helpful if you’ve felt stalled or unsure of what to do in this fixed sign house.

The house Mars is moving into is an area of life where you are more ready and willing to take some sustained action to achieve your goals. 

By rising sign, how could you take sustained action in the following areas:

• Aries rising: the way you add value to the world, earn money, or how you value yourself.
• Taurus rising: your appearance or body, the habits that are at the core of your personality,  the way you present yourself to the world
• Gemini rising: the ways you sabotage yourself, your mental health in general, or your spirituality.
• Cancer rising: the way you interact with your audience/clients or organizations you are involved with, or any long-term goals you’ve been planning.
• Leo rising: your career, the way you present yourself at work, your relationship to external authority figures, or the way you own your personal authority 
• Virgo rising: your desire to travel or pursue advanced training, study foreign concepts, philosophical ideologies, religion, or astrology.
• Libra rising: your investments, a partner’s money,  inheritance/estate planning, and possibly occult topics
• Scorpio rising: your business and personal partnerships which include business partners, spouses, or 1-1 clients 
• Sagittarius rising: your health (including diet and exercise), coworkers, employees, or pets
• Capricorn rising: your dating life, topics related to children, creative pursuits, and all of the lovely things you desire 
• Aquarius rising: your family,  your home, and the things you do to create a feeling of stability in your life
• Pisces rising: your siblings, communication, your daily commute or short-distance travel

Wednesday 7/6:

Wednesday is cooperative, optimistic, and great for integration.
