Astrology for the Week of February 21 - 27 

Before we get started, I want you to know that all times I’m going to mention are in the central time zone. If you want to see the aspects discussed in the forecast on your digital calendar in your time zone, you can get that here.

Last week may have been the official celebration of  Valentine’s Day but this week has some seriously romantic vibes shining through to compliment the passion Mars and Venus bring when in such close proximity. The thing is romance and passion aren’t exclusive to significant others.

I’m going to nerd out a little with language.

• Definition of Romantic:
• Consisting of or resembling a romance
• Having no basis in fact
• Impractical in conception or plan
• Marked by the imaginative or emotional appeal of what is heroic, adventurous, remote, mysterious, or idealized
• Having an inclination for romance
• Marked by expressions of love or affection
• Conducive to or suitable for lovemaking

• Definition of Passion:
• A very powerful feeling, for example of sexual attraction, love, hate, anger, or other emotion
• An extreme interest in or wish for doing something, such as a hobby, activity, etc
• It also means suffering if you go to the Latin and Greek origins which also helps explain the use of the word in the context of the resurrection story of Christ 

So when people think romance they tend to think about the more subjectively positive expressions of it like proposals, first dates, Disney love, Hallmark movies, flowers, and love songs. But it can also be a crush that has no basis in reality, Romeo and Juliet, or Rose telling Jack she’ll never let go (you can’t see me but I’m rolling my eyes).

And when people think passion they think 50 Shades of nonsense, or that can’t wait one more second first time feeling, or the way they felt the first time they went full nerd mode learning astrology - that last one might be just me but you get the idea. But it can also be the strong emotion that comes after a breakup or the rage you feel when someone hurts your child or any other strong subjectively negative emotion.

Ok so why does this matter in the context of this forecast? Mars and Venus are conjunct all of this week and all of next until they meet again exactly on March 6(ish). It’s a LOT of passion and romance energy and this week it’s being triggered by Neptune which is the poster planet for romance in all of its many iterations. 

As always, the energy is most concentrated on the days the aspect is exact but you’ll feel it building throughout the week and where and how it’ll manifest for you depends entirely on the specifics of your chart.

BUT what I can tell you for sure is that all of this cool stuff is happening in Capricorn which is exactly where the Venus and Mercury retrogrades were recently and it’s where the Capricorn pileup at the end of 2019-2020 occurred. The next two weeks is the wrap-up of that story and I’ll have a lot more to say about it next week. This week offers an opportunity to review how far you’ve come before you finalize your travel plans for the future. 

But it’s also happening with Mars and Venus which are traditionally viewed as the masculine and feminine energy in astrology. It’s triggering relationship patterns in a big way. Take time to think about how you integrate the masculine and feminine within yourself and how you’d like that to look going forward as well as how you want your relationships with others to look going forward. With all of the dreamy Neptune energy, it should be easy to tap into what you really want. For the love of all that is holy in this world, do not limit yourself to what you’ve been told to want, what’s comfortable, or what you think is possible. You’ll get the limits and reality checks next week. 

Astrologically, this week may not look as exciting as some of the other weeks on the calendar but it’s perfect as a runway for dreaming big dreams while still getting things done and feeling all the Mars and Venus things that have been bubbling for a while now. 

Next week is when things get serious. There’s a new moon, Mars & Venus both meet up with Pluto for big transformation, the Sun hits Jupiter, and then Mars and Venus connect again to begin a brand new cycle together in Aquarius. 

It would be really easy to overlook the subtlety and nuance this week unless you were paying attention and actively using it to help you prepare for next week. You could use this week as an escape from reality or you could use it to dream up a better reality.

Alrighty. That’s all of the subtle energy you might miss if you’re not paying attention before being backhanded with the stronger version of it next week. Now, I’ll talk about the day-to-day so you can plan.

Monday morning starts with the Moon moving into Scorpio and setting the tone for a productive morning with a slightly more tense afternoon and evening. Try to be reflective rather than reactionary for the best results (even though people might be pushing your buttons💥)

Tuesday your emotions are likely to be closer to the surface. How that goes depends entirely on the types of emotions that are bubbling up for you. 

The morning might be a little frustrating but the afternoon flows along much more smoothly. Patience and persistence will get you so much further before lunch than asserting dominance. The afternoon is much more pleasant and the evening is a bit dreamy.

Wednesday the Moon moves into Sagittarius bringing a little more fire and a little less emotional overload. The Mars Neptune sextile is exact today. It’s a day for dreaming and the desire to get lost in the fantasy could be strong. A great way to express this would be engaging in creative endeavors such as writing, graphic design, art, or dance.

Thursday has a Mercury retrograde vibe with unexpected changes, the potential for tech issues, saying things you later regret, and learning things that are a bit shocking. Be adaptable, don’t make promises you can’t keep, and count to 10 if you feel reactionary.

Friday morning might have a few delays but the afternoon and evening should move productively along as planned.

Once the Moon joins the Capricorn party at 10:27 am you’ll begin to process everything that has happened this week and maybe the past couple of years. In general, the Moon in Capricorn likes to get things done so this weekend might be more work than play.

Sunday morning is the wrap-up of the Moon in Capricorn with the Moon hitting Venus, Mars, and then Pluto offering a little preview of next week before moving into Aquarius at 12:35 pm.
