[Fate & Free Will ] Astrology for the Week of February 5 - February 11

Fair warning, I’m going to spend a silly amount of time on the Aquarius and Pluto of it all this week. Why? Because I have been coaching a lot on it with my 1:1 clients, during astrology consultations, and within the Crusade.

It’s a bfd this month and it kicks off now.

Monday 02/05

Monday is the second hit of Aquarius intensification where you’ll have an opportunity to figure out what transformations Pluto in Aquarius might be cooking up for you over the next twentyish years because Mercury is joining the party at 12:10 am eastern.

With Mercury in Aquarius, you may find your thoughts and communication taking on a more structured yet unconventional approach. Aquarius, traditionally linked with discipline and innovation, encourages a methodical yet original way of thinking. 

This period is great for intellectual activities that require both systematic analysis and creative problem-solving. You might feel inspired to explore unconventional ideas or to apply your thoughts to more abstract concepts.

However, there can be a tendency to become fixated on your ideas, as Aquarius can sometimes lend a rigidity to thoughts. It's essential to maintain flexibility and openness to new perspectives. 

Mercury moving through Aquarius supports thinking outside the box, but it also requires grounding your ideas in practical reality. 

For most of the transit, here’s what you can expect by rising sign:

• Aries Rising: This is a great time for networking and collaborative projects but be sure to balance your visionary ideas with practical considerations to ensure they’re achievable.
• Taurus Rising: This transit encourages you to think differently about your professional path or public image. Be aware of how any unconventional ideas align with your professional goals and public expectations.
• Gemini Rising: This is a time for intellectual expansion, possibly through travel or higher education. Your curiosity is heightened, and you're drawn to unconventional subjects but try to stay at least a little grounded and practical while you’re exploring these new horizons.
• Cancer Rising: You may find yourself more inclined to approach complex subjects like finances, intimacy, and psychological matters with a new perspective. Ensure that your approach respects the emotional depth of these topics.
• Leo Rising: Expect stimulating conversations and fresh ideas in your one-on-one relationships. This transit is great for solving problems together but you may need to make an effort to maintain emotional connection and avoid letting discussions become too impersonal or detached.
• Virgo Rising: It's an excellent period for brainstorming and implementing efficient systems. However, stay flexible and avoid becoming too rigid in your approach to daily tasks and health routines.
• Libra Rising: This is a time for exploring new hobbies or injecting originality into your romantic pursuits. Try not to let intellectual curiosity and detached analysis overshadow the emotional nature of  your creative and romantic interactions.
• Scorpio Rising: You might find yourself exploring new ways of interacting with family members or redesigning your living space just make an effort to ensure these changes enhance the emotional security and comfort of your home, rather than creating unnecessary disruption.
• Sagittarius Rising: This transit highlights your house of connections and it's a great time for intellectual exchanges, new conversations, and learning new skills but pay attention to how your words are received to keep from becoming too emotionally detached.
• Capricorn Rising: You'll likely find yourself thinking creatively about resources, possibly discovering new ways to generate income. The key here is to avoid impulsive financial decisions and ensure that your inventive ideas are grounded in practicality.
• Aquarius Rising: This period is great for articulating your unique perspectives and redefining your personal image. However, be mindful of not becoming too detached in your self-expression, maintaining a balance between uniqueness and relatability.
• Pisces Rising: This period is great for journaling, coaching, or therapy as a way to uncover innovative solutions to deep-rooted issues but try not to over-analyzing to the point of losing touch with your emotional core.

I said most of the transit because today is an exception. As soon as Mercury enters Aquarius he is going to be marching towards Pluto and amping up all of that new Pluto in Aquarius energy. 

You may have already noticed conversations that are more intense, triggering, or transformational over the weekend and this will continue throughout the first part of the week.

That’s because Mercury and Pluto join forces to help you uncover hidden truths and explore topics that might previously have been taboo or too complex. You might find yourself more inclined to investigate and analyze, seeking to understand the deeper layers of any situation.

This intense mental energy is focused on areas requiring reform or radical change. Your conversations and ideas could be catalysts for significant shifts, either in your personal understanding or within your wider community. However, this powerful mental focus might also lead to obsessive thinking or a tendency to brood over issues, potentially causing mental strain.

Your communication during this transit might be more direct and penetrating, possibly unsettling others who are not prepared for such intensity. It's a period that could be used for transformative thinking and effective problem-solving, but it's crucial to balance this intensity with mindfulness of your mental health and the impact of your words on others.

Embrace the chance to innovate in a way that enhances, rather than disrupts, your established routines and plans, whether that's in your personal connections, financial strategies, or professional projects.

Thursday the intensity gets dialed back up.

Not only are those intense conversations from earlier in the week likely to be top of mind again but there could also be a sudden urge to break free from routines or situations that feel too restrictive, possibly leading to unexpected changes.

You might find yourself questioning long-held beliefs or structures in your life, driven by a strong desire for freedom and authenticity. However these changes probably won’t come without some resistance or tension, either from within yourself or from external circumstances.

This is a day (ok it’s a whole week) of growth and self-discovery, but it requires embracing change and innovation in a way that doesn't completely destabilize your sense of security and well-being.

Keep this in mind for the New Moon and new beginnings that are kicking off tomorrow.

Friday is not only the Aquarius New Moon, it is also the Chinese Lunar New Year 🐉 🎊 and I have a LOT to say about it. 

You know I love an astrological new beginning and the Lunar New Year is one of my favorites because it occurs on  the second new moon after the winter solstice - way better than the arbitrary January 1, right? Plus there are 15 days of celebration for the Lunar New Year, not just one. Sign me up.

So why am I going on about this when it’s a completely different zodiac system? (seriously read that paper from WKU) 

Because it’s something I always pay attention to but also because everyone is collectively experiencing a transformational new beginning in one area of their life this year that happens to coincide with the Aquarius New Moon and the  Lunar New Year.  

If you read Amanda’s article you’ll notice she gave some homework for before the New Year begins - deep cleaning your home and getting rid of things you don’t want to bring with you into the new year.

This is the same principle in use when we talk about releasing and letting go of ideas, things, etc between the Full Moon and the New Moon. 

Before we ring in this New Moon and New Lunar Year, try to spend some time thinking about what you want to let go of as it relates to your Aquarius house topics (refer back to the rising sign lists above). Don’t worry, this isn’t your only chance - after all Pluto will be hanging out in this sector until 2043 - but this is such a fantastic time to think about what you want and what that means saying goodbye to. 

The majority of the day is best suited for reflecting and releasing and deciding what you want to call into this area of life over the next two weeks. 

I fully intend to spend the whole week continuing to do this with my thoughts and home right up until 5:59 pm eastern when the Sun and the Moon meet up for that Aquarius New Moon kiss.

But what about the New Moon itself…

This New Moon offers a new beginning that will be marked by a strong desire for change and innovation. This emphasizes a break from tradition and the exploration of new, unconventional paths.

There could be unexpected challenges or disruptions, particularly in areas related to finance, resources, or personal values. The key during this period is to find a balance between embracing innovative ideas and considering their practical implications and potential impact on stability and security.

Saturday  you might experience a clash between innovative ideas and practical implementation. Your mind is probably buzzing with unconventional thoughts and plans, but these might seem at odds with the need for tangible results and stability. 

This is a time to carefully evaluate which of your ideas can realistically be grounded and integrated into your practical life. Watch out for overcommitment or overestimating what’s feasible, as there's a tendency to be overly optimistic about what can be achieved.
